This week the kids and I were at our church VBS (vacation bible school) for the week. I helped with snacks, pre usual, so I got the kids visiting me while they were munching and playing outside. Evan helped Pastor this year and Eliza was in the oldest kids group.
Alex helped with crafts this year. He has been doing this the past two or three years. Keeps him in the air conditioned church and busy.
We did the story book trail at the library where you walk about a half a mile while reading stands that have a children's book page on it. It was a hot day for a walk, but it was pretty and I think I'll go back and pick some flowers/plants to dry.
I've been having regular visits by hummingbirds lately in the garden. I didn't remember them being so loud until they are right next to you.
We also had a baby rabbit hiding in my garden. I have been wondering what has been munching on my green beans, and I do believe I found the culprit. Evan helped me "shew" him out of the garden one morning.
We also had a black swallowtail hatch this week in the garden.
Eliza and I thought it best to transfer it to a plant it could get nectar from and blend in.
We headed to my Uncle Kevin's house for a Ernst Family reunion. While it was amazingly hot, it was a really nice event.
Mike and I enjoyed the breeze next to the garage....
While we watched the kids swim the whole day.
Evan asked this week to tumble rocks, so this is what we will be doing for the next month. It was far too loud to keep in the house, so it has been banished to the garage.
We spent more time in the water when we got invited to go tubing with our friends. The boys somehow got completely vertical, but were able to hold on and land still on the tube.
