And away we go....

This is my first attempt at a blog... I hope you enjoy the ride.

Alex has sure been looking cute for church lately thanks to all the great clothes he got from his Aunt Shawn.  The pastor even complemented him on his sweater vests. :-)

We visited with Nana and went to 'The Lob', as the Baker family calls it.  Alex had his first taste of a Red Lobster biscuit and enjoyed it.  He also did really well at sitting in his high chair and eating all the mashed veggies I brought along.

Alex sure enjoyed crawling around Nana's sharp edged steel table.  This kid has no fear!!

I love this little guys expressions!!

So I've mentioned to a few of you that Alex has a dark spot on his back.  You can see it here on his left shoulder.  It hasn't gotten any worse since birth, but it hasn't gotten any better.  I plan on taking him to see a dermatologist in the near future just to have it examined and also have a good baseline for the future.

"I swear awsifer, I only had one bottle!!"

Alex loves his baths.  He can be the grumpiest kid ever, get him in the tub and he's all smiles and splashes.  Also, who doesn't think a baby butt is the cutest thing EVER!!

Alex has been gritting his gums lately when he doesn't want to eat.  This is the expression he gives when doing that. (Note the clenched fists)

Alex practicing his walking and feeding skills!

Alex is even a stand up guy in church.  He enjoys joining in on hymns as well as the sermon with his little voice (and some times big voice). :-)

So... the time has come, Alex will crawl up to and climb up on anything he can.  Me, toys, anything.  He just wants to practice his standing now.

Must....

Escape....

now what.... (he was buckled in, I need to find an new way to keep him busy while I shower)

So cute

He still enjoys time in his play gyms I guess.

He is climbing up on everything!

Alex loves playing with Link.  Thankfully Link doesn't mind.  Alex was giggling up a storm when I took this picture.

We've been trying to get Alex to stand up more, and he seems to be enjoying it. He is getting more adventurous and transferring from the couch to me or Mike and back.  He is also really starting to enjoy taking our fingers and being able to walk around.  I think he's going to enjoy walking.

Alex has been more adventurous in the kitchen too.  Opening anything he can get his paws on.  We have our child proofing stuff just need to install it.  Just a matter of time before he gets his legs going on his own and he's getting into everything he hasn't gotten into.

Alex hasn't really been enjoying his veggies lately, but this week I made a veggie soup and he LOVED it.  He ate everything I put on his tray and wanted more.  It was amazing!! :)

Today we started having Alex nap in his crib and that is mainly due to me finally finishing the nursery curtains.  I made them double sided so we can switch them around if we want a different look.  One side is mushrooms to go with the gnome theme we have and the other side has flowers that go pretty well with the orange walls.

Alex is only crying for 30 mins or less before he falls asleep, so I consider today a success.

Alex was hanging out with Link on the floor looking outside and Alex decided to crawl into Link's lap.  I thought it was so cute.  Link even kind of looked like he was giving him a hug back.

Alex is pretty goofy when he gets into his highchair.  He tends to put his feet up and lounge when he can, then he squeals for food. :)

Alex has the cutest sleeping positions.  He starts on his back, and then usually ends up crawling to the side of the crib where one or more appendages end up outside the crib.  So before I go to bed I tend to visit him and pull him back to the center of the crib and cover him up, and also have a little giggle about how he has positioned himself.

We've been standing Alex up so he can practice his balance.  I put the Feval Mousekawits hat on him while he was looking through his toy basket.

And finally here are two pictures of Alex practicing his balance on his toy house.

So while we were at Red Robin we decided to see if Alex would like to try some fries.  Turns out he really likes them and he got just about as many in his belly as he did on the floor. :)

I thought that this picture of Alex looking out back was cute.  He didn't spend too long looking out, but I have a feeling this is just the beginning of him exploring the outside.

At Red Robin again we were looking for things to entertain Alex while we were at dinner and he seemed to like this straw.  Alex has been doing this scrunching up face for a while now and we find it so cute.  He normally does it when he doesn't like eating something and he is like bearing his teeth at us, but he is doing now just for fun I think. :)

We started feeding Alex new items such as Yogurt and baby Cheetos.  He seems to really like both, and he doesn't like the Cheetos unless you give them to him whole.  Can't be cheap and break them up... oh no.. he needs the whole thing.

Alex and Link have been spending a lot more time together now that Alex is semi mobile.  Alex tends to follow Link around and Link tends to hover over Alex and see what he is doing.  Alex really enjoyed seeing Mike flap Link's ears back and forth one night, and Alex and Link seem to be hanging out on the floor together more often. Alex tells Link about his day and what he wants to do, and Link just looks at him and says "Sure kid".

Today Alex took his first step.... stair step that is. :)  He has been observing them for about a week now, and this morning he went over to the step to the library and he backed himself over it, and tried to claw his way back up, but couldn't do it... so he just let go and he went onto his knees on the lower floor.  Then he crawled away and started playing with Links crate (which he loves to do). Alex loves to play with things that pivot.

I decided to see what Alex would think of a icicle and turns out, he doesn't like them at all.  Not sure why, perhaps too cold?

Alex had his first bath where he was just sitting up the whole time and not sitting in his bath seat.  He seemed to like it quite a bit.  He can still splash so he's happy. :)

Keeping Busy is our middle name

We joined some friends for bowling, turns out the boys really enjoy it. Evan is already perfecting his form. Eliza tries really hard to get ...
