Alex has really mastered sitting up and playing.  He has almost learned how to transition from a sitting position to a crawling position, but not yet.
I sat down with Alex last week at the piano to see if he would play.  After a while he put his fingers down and started to push some keys down.  Perhaps I'll have to make a music time ever few days and see where it goes. :)

Last week the little guy had a fever for three days.  All he wanted to do was be held and taken care of.  Mike enjoyed just rocking in the chair with him and enjoying the time of Alex not pushing away to go do something.  I took Alex to the Doctor on Wed and he did REALLY well.  He didn't cry really at all and was just interested in everything around him.  The Doctor said that he had a cold and hopefully the fever would break by Friday, and it finally did on Thursday.  Now Alex has a bit of a runny nose, but other than that  seems in good spirits. :)

Hanging on the couch with Daddy

We traveled to Oma's house this past weekend to spend some time with my step sister and her family.  Alex enjoyed seeing his cousins and got to hang out with Clara and chew on Noah's arc for a while.

Mike really enjoys putting Alex in his shoes for some reason.  Granted it looks cute, and Alex's legs weren't long enough even to reach the floor with the boots on.

As most of you know Alex has started to crawl.  He doesn't get onto his knees and hands, it's more of a commando crawl.  He is pretty effective at it though.  He can get all around the bedroom now and crawl down the hallway.  If he wants to get somewhere he'll get there, and hopefully Mommy or Daddy is there with him.
So it is no surprise that Alex doesn't like his veggies, but yesterday I tried to see if Alex would like some spinach balls I made... and he did!!  He went right to town which was awesome.  I need to think of some other ways to get him his veggies.

So last night - no picture included - we had our first wave.  We've been teaching Alex to wave goodnight to Daddy before nursing and in about three days he has learned that and put it into practice.  Mike was very excited.

Take care and until next time... stay warm and healthy.

Alex has gotten really good at scooting his car up to things and inspecting them.  lately he has been getting into items on the changing table.  So we see him with burp clothes and diapers with a giant grin on his face.

Alex was pouting a lot this week.  Perhaps because he wasn't feeling well I'm not sure but he gave me some really cute expressions while in his little red car.

Alex has been enjoying sitting down on the couch and reading a good book like his daddy.  He enjoys books that make him think. :)

Alex is getting pretty good at standing up while holding on to things.  Mike said that he is even starting to understand if he lets go and starts to lose his balance he reaches for something to regain his balance.

Alex was looking pretty cute in some overalls that his Aunt Shawn gave him so I thought I'd share.  He had so many pockets he didn't know what do with all of them.

Alex has really been enjoying his bath time.  He splashes and splashes and sucks on his tub toys.  We can't just let him be yet in there because he tends to lean forward too much, or kick off with his legs throwing him backwards.  So we'll keep the baby bath seat in there for a bit longer, it's kind of convenient that it's a catcher for his tub toys.

There is a cute picture of Alex in his diaper waiting for the tub to fill.  He is learning slowly that if he hangs on to things he can keep up right longer. This is also shown in his laundry basket picture.

There is a picture of the boys waiting with me for my new glasses.  Alex was a bit fussy that day until we took him out of the car seat then he calmed down a bit.

He also has been enjoying playing with my Snoopy ruler.  Measuring the walls and his toys.  He also seems to play school with it where he points stuff out to his stuffed animals that are near by. :)

Alex is also getting too big for his jumper.  While he enjoys it greatly because he can grab clothes and throw them onto the floor while Mommy is cooking.  But when he bounces his knees are starting to knock the floor which isn't good for the little guy.  I have to hand it to him though.  He found a new way of using the swing.  He makes larger and larger circles until he hits the door jam and then he slides around on his knees from the momentum he has built up.  Such a smart kid.
Link has been better about letting Alex pet him and come up to him when in his walker.  Alex looks at Link and reaches out to touch his fur and say hello.  He also likes to look over Links tags to make sure they are correct and ask if he can be included in the 'emergency contact' number.

He has no issues sitting up for long periods of time and playing.  He does get frustrated when objects roll out of his arm span because he doesn't know how to retrieve them, but he'll figure it out. He got a toy from his great aunt for Christmas that he really likes.  It is a bug that you put balls into and it spins around and spits them out the back of it.  He figured out in one try that he needed to put the balls in the toy, mind you with some help, and he's been remembering that when you put him down to play with it.  Pretty awesome!!

Alex figured out that he is still a bit too small to fit into Daddy's shoes.  While he is cute in them they just aren't practical at this time. :)

Alex brought in the New Year sleeping, but he did enjoy being able to wear the "Happy New Year" hat for a while in his walker.  Hard to believe this little guy is going to be 9 months old in about another week. He is growing so fast.

Alex has also been enjoying his gift from his Nana... a brand new red car!!!  It has songs and noises and things to just spin and play with.  He enjoys honking the horn and pressing buttons, it is really quite cute.  He does however tend to fall out the door on occasion. :)

I hope everyone had a great time bringing in the new year and are all ready for the next storm about to hit.  6-12 inches and -26 degrees with wind chill... now that is a winter if I ever knew one. Stay warm!!
Alex is really becoming a sit up guy.

Keeping Busy is our middle name

We joined some friends for bowling, turns out the boys really enjoy it. Evan is already perfecting his form. Eliza tries really hard to get ...
