What are you thankful for?

The boys are getting pretty good at Tic Tac Toe. It's the game to play when we go out to eat.

Mike got down all the huge floor puzzles one day and he and the kids had fun putting them all together. Eliza found it more fun to just run over them while they were being assembled.

Maggie turned 10 this year, and we were thankful to celebrate with her. We also got to see the Mr. and Mrs. Wade and Davenport family, which we haven't seen in quite a while as well.

The finished product of Mike and I painting pottery. The outside of my bowl is blue.

Mike did a great job on his Gnome.

Eliza has "strong muscles!" to carry her humidifier water all the way to her room.

The faces of Eliza when she shoves the entire Meijer cookie in her mouth at once.

When Eliza is in her full snow gear she looks so cute, and SO PINK! Her backpack is almost as big as she is, but this picture doesn't show that as well.

We did a little shopping at Aldi's and Eliza wanted to carry the bag. She's such a helper.

Eliza and Evan both got their flu shots and as a good job we went to McDonalds for lunch. The only reason Evan wants to go there is the toys... I tried talking him into me buying him a small toy and going to another place, he wasn't interested.

Eliza looks so cute doing things... like even eating apples during swim class.

Problem is...

She doesn't want me taking pictures of her. She is blocking my picture of her in this picture. Clever girl.

Evan and Eliza decided to go out and play in their costumes one cold winter day. So they wore their boots, gloves and hats and had a ball. Only issue is the astronaut costume didn't make it back inside clean. Eliza decided to play in the rock pile  and her butt was covered in mud and also her knees. Turns out... that suit isn't really that easy to clean.

Eliza hard at work at Red Robin coloring.

We moved the box fort into the play room to make room for the Christmas tree. Only problem was it didn't fit through the doorway. So we had to cut off the chimney, so now all the kids can see out the top.

We headed to Henry Ford Museum to see Clayton sing in the boy choir. Before the event started we went around and saw a few things. The boys are checking out the under carriage of this vehicle.

Evan didn't want to sit with the rest of the kids in this picture. However, he did want to drive this train 3 or more times while we were there. He kept asking me to shovel coal for him, which I did.

We got to see Aunt Shawn and eat delicious cookies while listening to the boy choir and waiting for Santa to make his appearance.

So when Santa came out Evan didn't get a hand shake.. he was very very very disappointed and sad. He was telling the keyboard player how sad he was about what happened... the guy didn't seemed that interested.

We headed over to see the Lego Exhibit and saw they had robots you could drive. So Evan and Alex battled it out with robots for a while.

And we went into the Lego Exhibit and got to see the huge buildings and build some of our own.

As always they have a beautiful tree.

Mike handing the crew as we were leaving.

Found this stuffed animal hugging a lego man one day. I have to say it brought a huge smile to my face.

We had to get a new tree this year because our old one only half way lit up. So when we asked the kids which one they wanted they said the "Rainbow Tree" because it can light up in different colors. The kids haves started helping decorate the tree, which is.... nice... one ornament was lost so far this year.

So we woke up to the furnace no longer having a blower so the house temperature was steadily dropping throughout the day. So we got a new HVAC system this year. :) So last Nov. we got the windows replaced, then in January we got a new roof, then over the summer we got new gutters, and a month ago we got a new water heater... we have almost an entirely new house! *sigh*

We had a good crowd for Thanksgiving this year. Lots to be thankful for and lots to eat.

The kids enjoyed their kids table.

We got to sit down and enjoy a game together and enjoy some time by the fire.

We weren't able to take our family pictures at Cranbrook like we normally do this year. Mike took a photo class last month and the professor offered his studio space for his students to use for 4 hours. So We went there with the Wade family and my mom and got some cute pictures. The kids spread out while keeping busy while Mike and his professor figured out the lighting.

A sneak peak of some of the pictures we took. You'll see more on the Christmas card. :)

Eliza is "So High!"

I never understand how kids can sleep in the most awkward ways and not have a neck cramp. Eliza loves this pillow. She brings it with her downstairs after naps.

A branch fell right behind the play structure... thankfully the kids weren't out there at the time.

My pizza dough had a huge bubble on it when I looked at it in the morning. I thought it was neat.

Evan ate his first whole apple. He was very concerned about the pit, because he doesn't understand they aren't like nectarines.

We headed over the Aunt Shawns to make cookies last week. Eliza enjoyed playing Don't Wake the Daddy with Clara.

Mike decided to bring out the game Clue and give it a whirl with Alex. Alex wasn't the greatest at not revealing his hand to everyone, but it was fun to play.

Evan was playing with my old radio and I decided to let him figure out how to tune in a radio station. He was sitting at this thing for an hour trying different stations and dancing around to the music.

Eliza looks so sweet when she wakes up from her nap.

The kids enjoying Toy Story 4. They really thought it was a funny movie. Mike and I enjoyed it too.

The kids working on their thank you's for the lady a Meijer who gave them Christmas gifts.

Mike turns 40 tomorrow and on Sunday we celebrated with is sister and mother on Sunday. His mom is also getting a year older tomorrow, but we'll keep that number to ourselves.  Happy Birthday Mike and Pat!!

When things get busy...

Evan decided to jump onto the computers at the library. He's using a mouse for the first time, which was interesting for him. He was writing his name and Alex's using the mouse in Paint.

Here he is just typing random letters. :)

We spent 3 hours a Brickworld in Novi. People from all over build things out of Legos and display them for people to see. It was pretty neat to see.

The had huge tables of green or red legos that you could just build what ever you wanted.

Eliza loves school. She can't wait to go every week.

All the kids are in swim classes now. Alex decided he missed swimming. So on Wed. mornings I take Eliza and then I take the boys in the evening. Everyone is doing well.

Evan was more scared than Eliza up on the ladder.

Mike and I were working on sorting legos one day and I was thinking "the kids are pretty quiet". So I peeked outside and saw two naked people swinging. Turns out Evan decided to pee into the woods which lead to him taking off his clothes, which in turn, made Eliza follow suit. They had some pretty cold skin when they came in to get dressed.

Eliza's hair is getting into her eyes so I've started giving her a sprout. She doesn't not like her picture being taken in the morning.

My messy faced girl

Bus stop photo bomb!

The last of the dandelions.

Evan had a cavity when he went to the dentist. So he had to get laughing gas, but he did great! Now we are being better about flossing.

We had a nice visit from the Wade family. Everyone is giving a goofy face in this picture.

Wade visits are always ended with some Mario Cart fun.

Eliza helping with laundry.

We went to a birthday party last month and the parting gifts were super hero costumes.

The kids looked so cute.

Amazon delivered a package to the center of our driveway last month. I'm glad I noticed they delivered it because Mike would have driven right over it parking his car in the garage.

This shirt is so appropriate for Evan

Kindle Time

Visiting the Wade house hold to celebrate Shawn and Dave's birthday's.

Alex wearing Aunt Shawn's cow pillow on his head.

Aunt Shawn playing "Don't wake the Daddy" with the kids.

Mike and I finally stain treated the play structure. It looks so much better!

We took our good friend Rasida out to dinner to celebrate her getting her Masters degree. We are so proud of all her hard work!

When I take Eliza's sprout out at swim class I love how her hair looks.

Eliza has been really enjoying swim class. She calls her swim instructor "her best friend".

Eliza working on her fine motor skills.

We've had a large rock pile behind the house for 3 years now, and it's started to kill the grass, so I had the kids help me pull it back out of the grass and shovel it...

.....to put it in my garden to keep the weeds down.

We had a great dinner with the VanZelfde family this month. It's always a pleasure to see all of them. We introduced them to a few new games, turns out Jan really enjoys games.

The kids had a great time with their kids as well.

Alex looking dapper for Sunday school.

Evan also pulling out a tie for church.

The kids were Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach for Halloween.

Eliza getting her "tickles". She gets everything out and ready for her treatment so she doesn't get bloody noses. She has to get nasal spray in each nostril and neosporine twice a day.

Everyone was cold and wanted cuddles at Red Robin one day.

Even I got cuddles.

Mike's been noticing his hangers going missing lately. Turns out Eliza and Evan have been stealing them for "wings".

Too cool for school

Love these kids

We visited my Grandma Ernst at her new home. She seems to have a very nice place there, and she seems happy.

After visiting Grandma Ernst we went over to Oma's house and ate lunch, met Oma's new dog Peaches...

and played some Uno.

What's fall without some fun in a leaf pile?!

I had a girls night out with my MOPS group and made a new painting.

They are getting so big, but not big enough to brush teeth without a stool.

Picking out pumpkins at out MOPS church.

Doing some Christmas shopping (Evan) and reading Narnia (Alex and Daddy) while I made dinner.

We went to Grandma Ernst's Trick or Treating time at her new place. James and Maggie decided to join in the fun.

Maggie got selected to do the "Eat the Donut on a string without using your hands". She did great!

After our trick or treating we went to eat dinner. I got some funny looks walking in with 5 kids, but mostly smiles.

James ordered a giant burger, and he did a great job at finishing it.

Silly Eliza

Pumpkins are carved after being designed by the kids. Evan wanted a girl pumpkin so I gave her long hair.

Halloween at preschool.

For Halloween the Wade family and my friend Sara's family joined us for pizza and trick or treating.

There was some craziness before trick or treating.

It was wet and windy, but we had a good time and got lots of candy.

Eliza loves all her jewels.

Trying on some of Aunt Shawn hand me down costumes.

Lots of kids in the mirror

We celebrated Davey's 14th birthday. Where does the time go?

We picked up this super cute kids table and chairs at our shopping trip at Menards earlier that day. They worked great for the kids!

Alex showing off his strength giving his siblings piggy back rides.

Walking to the bus stop

She won't be this small for long

We had a nice dinner with Dad and Jodi this month

The Wade family and Oma watched the kids so we could go out on our 8th Anniversary date. We went to a pottery shop in Plymouth and painted some pottery and then went to dinner.

I "painted" the bowl and Mike was making a garden gnome.

Mike was leaf blowing and the kids invited him into the garage to see a show. Turns out they were pretending to watch a show and Mike was in the back row.

I stole some hay from a neighbors trash thinking it was straw... has way too many hay seeds in it to be useful in my garden. But it makes for a cute picture.

We had a visit with Aunty Em this month

The kids had a great time racing down her driveway

Kids sleep in the most awkward positions.

Eliza getting ready for swim class

Eliza loves Raspberries

Evan loves them as well.

Evan was not happy about sharing his pony ride with Eliza

Alex is doing great at reading. He is enjoying it and really impressing me every time he sit down.

Keeping Busy is our middle name

We joined some friends for bowling, turns out the boys really enjoy it. Evan is already perfecting his form. Eliza tries really hard to get ...
