Summer Fun

Quite a few weeks ago Alex and I attended one of Clayton's baseball games.  While we were waiting for the game to start the girls and Alex decided to play on the playground near by.  Alex was a bit too scared to go down this big slide with the girls, but he still had a good time with them.

Alex and Link looking out the front window.  I just thought it was a cute shot.

"Who me?" tee hee hee - I have a feeling I'll see this look a lot in future years.

Mike and Alex looking for toys to play with.

Alex walking around during one of our driving breaks on our trip.  He loved how there was no one around and he could just roam where ever.  He didn't really know what direction to go in so he just kept turning around.

Even in his diaper he is cute.  He likes to lean on the sliding glass door screens... I'm just waiting for him to go through it once.

Alex really enjoys making noises in this PVC pipe we have upstairs, not really sure where it came from.

He enjoys it even more when you play with him in the battle of the breath.

So on our trip we found out that Alex LOVES to swing.  We couldn't get him out of the swing, and this picture is of no exception.  He could have stayed in that swing for hours, but I was starting to burn and it was getting warm out... ok and my arm was getting tired.

This was later that day Alex was again swinging with the girls and didn't want to stop.  Don't mind the stuff all over the lawn, the Wade house hold is under a bit of construction.

Alex and Daddy enjoying themselves on the couch.

I can hear it already "Dad, can I borrowing the car." Note the car keys in hand.

Alex playing with his new bus in the sun.

So we got a huge box from Amazon and we decided to build Alex a fort.  He loves it.  He crawls in side...

And closes the door... see his little fingers...

Then throws the door open and is so proud of himself.

And he has figured out he can reach the super low light switches in the house. Off..

On! Off... ON!  OFF!  ONNN!!  he could do this for hours.

Alex loves watching Daddy mow the lawn.  He kept going window to window to get his attention.  He'd stare out wide eyed with a huge grin on his face.

The Baker family is doing well and working on getting some pictures ready from our two week adventure.  Currently we are all under the weather a bit and working on getting well, but don't worry we're all on the up and up.

Walking and Climbing oh my!

Alex and I on the merry go round at Greenfield Village.  I think he enjoyed his time there, and I'm sure we'll be visiting again.  Lots more to see.

Alex on the approach...

Getting on board....

And he is off.  He does enjoy trying to stand up on the seat and hold on to the back of the car, but we are trying to detour this kind of actions.

Alex's Nana got him this kitchen at a garage sale.  He couldn't wait for Daddy to put it together before he had to play with it.

Fun with hats at Meijer

Oh Yeah!!!

Alex has learned to drink from a cup.  So we found him a little cup just his size.  Granted we only put a little water in at a time because most of the time he tips it before he gets it to his lips. :)

So proud of himself.

Alex petting Link.  Trying to get his dark blue outfit all white.

Alex playing with his kitchen.  We gave him a book to stand on so he doesn't have to stand on his tippy toes the whole time. He has also started stealing things out of my kitchen to put into his.  At least I know where to find them. :)

I have these inserts for my nursing bra that Alex likes to find and put on his head.  He puts it on and then shakes his head back and forth until it falls off.

So you can't see it very well but Alex's shirt is soaked.  The cup in his hand was full of water when he got it off the table to try and drink from it.  Well he is the winner of this wet t-shirt contest.

Alex's summer big boy PJ's.  Not a bad find for 50 cents.

Our neighbor just gave Alex this chair yesterday.  He loves it.  I keep wanting to say, and have said, "CUT!" when he gets into it. Alex has really started to climb on anything he can.  He climbed on any chair that is low enough, and also our fire place mantel.  This kid has no fear.

These shoes were made for walking!

Hello all! Just a quick update with Alex's latest achievement! On Friday Alex took his first real steps without assistance... just about 5 or so. On Sunday, we took this little video of him trying it out some more:

And then today, he became really adventurous and took a tour from the library, into the kitchen, around the island, and back to the library... all without help! So... we've got our hands full now! But we don't mind. :)

Anyway, that's all... hope you are all doing great!

May showers.... June...?

Alex enjoys crawling in the lower area of the entertainment center. I figure I should capture it because one day he will no longer fit. :)

The little people leading the littler people.

Link bath day. Everyone was having a good time trying out the new spot.  Not sure we're going to stick with that place, but it was good to try.

Daddy getting Alex ready for bed.

Too cool for school.

Yea, I know I'm one good looking fella.

Daddy and Alex enjoying the park after our bike ride.

Alex flipping through his baby book.  He is just tall enough.  Note the tippy toes.

Mommy gave Alex his first taste of a tootsie pop.

I think he liked it.  And yes, he was able to get the whole thing in his mouth.

We took Alex to a play land with a friend of ours.  He had a lot to do there and really enjoyed it.

We decided to take Alex on the big slide, he didn't like it that much.  A little too fast for the little guy.

He enjoyed climbing things.

And pushing things. :)

Alex was hanging out with me in the office when a storm was rolling in.  He heard the thunder and had to get up and check out what made that noise.

So Alex has figured out how to go down stairs.  I didn't know this until I was looking for him and he wasn't on the 'upper' lower level.  Turned out he had gone down the step and crawled over to Link's crate, crawled in, and was hanging out with Link.  I guess Link didn't seem to mind that much.  He just looked at me like "really? This kid is going to come in here and mess up my pillows?"

Another day, another thing to lick

Alex was enjoying having the windows open.  I was a little concerned that he was putting his weight on the screen, but I'll just have to watch that I guess.

Screen taste test

Taste testing his puzzle piece before attempting to throw it in the toilet. Alex loves going into the bathroom, climbing up on the toilet, and attempt to get into it.

As we were getting ready for the party this past weekend Alex decided to crawl in with Link and hang out.  Link didn't seem to mind too much, but Alex was COVERED with Link hair after.

Alex picking out a book to flip through.

Num num.... pankcakes

Alex and I went to get my tires balanced and he would NOT sit still.  He had to be up and running around.  He also didn't want to be walked, he wanted to get down and crawl, and as you might guess the tire places are NOT the cleanest. So that was an interesting busy hour or so that we waited, but in the end we got it done.
Baby butts are so cute!  Note the one handed walking.

Thank you for the car Nana.  I'll get the hang of it eventually. :)

All good things come to an end....

Mike took a half day of work on Monday to come home and go bowling with us. However, the $1 lanes were under maintenance (little did we kn...
