They just keep getting bigger

We all went to Greenfield Village to ride on Thomas The Train.  Alex was very happy to ride on Thomas.

Alex and Daddy both loaded up.

The boys with Thomas.

Alex got to go to Toys R Us and pick his birthday gifts from his Grandma Jamie and these are the items he picked.  I don't think the remote controlled car will last very long with how it rams into everything, but what do I know. He had a great time picking his gift and he got a crown, balloon and a stuffed Giraffe. All in all a good trip.

Evan got switched into a bigger seat because he kept fighting getting into the car.  I think it was the car more than the car seat.  He kept crawling into it while it was sitting on the floor.

Grandpa Clayton and Nephew Clayton are neck in neck for height now.  Nephew Clayton is 13 and already just about 6 foot.

Boys and their cars.

This picture I just found hilarious. Evan just looks crazy. :)

This is Evan's face now for pictures.  You point a camera at him and this is what he does.

Evan is getting a lot better at drinking out of a cup.  Now he also enjoys dumping the water out and filling the cup up with the contents of his plate.  Very fun for everyone.

We went with some friends to Greenfield Village and Thomas was still there.  Alex and I were very surprised to see him again. Turns out he was leaving the next day.

Chef Alex.

Mike would always put the pants on the boys heads while changing their diapers.  I figured why not, won't be in diaper much longer. (Crossing fingers)

Evan at dinner with photo face.

A great picture of Alex at dinner.

Alex and I at dinner.

Evan and Mike at my cousins wedding that was the must lovely day ever.  For an out door wedding we couldn't have asked for a better day.

Mike and I enjoying the wedding.

Evan is such a cry baby.  I think he was crying because I was sitting.

Water table is out and ready to roll. Do not get within 5' of it unless you want to get wet.

The boys and I one morning.

Mike and the boys playing with Legos.

The family is ready for a bike ride.

Alex has his new helmet and Evan looks pretty cute in his as well.

Evan has been wanting to feed himself more and more.  Now he refuses to let me put any utensil in his mouth, only he can.  He has to hold it and if I help try and put something on it he gets really mad.

Alex got sunflower seed from his Nana and planted them with his Oma.  Alex was very proud... too bad they didn't make it 24 hours outside. Not sure what happened but none of them survived the transplant outside.

Evan the old man. (I think I put Alex shorts on Evan because they were way too big)

Alex's last day of preschool with his teachers.  He already looking forward to next year.

Oh the joys of life

Evan started walking in April.  On the first day he took his worst spill as of yet (knock on wood).  He was walking down the hallway on his way to naps, and he went full tilt into the trim of the door to our closet.  It was amazing how quickly it began to swell and how big it got.  It didn't really bleed and he let us ice it some what.  Afterward, he even got up and walked around a bit more.

This is his head a few days later.  Already looking better.

Alex all ready to head to preschool.

Alex's birthday picture at preschool.  I'm not sure what it is about kids this age, but all of his pictures at preschool tend to be odd/funny.  He picked his shirt, and I think he has a tendency towards button up Hawaiian shirts just like his Grandpa Manny.

The boys still enjoy watching the garbage truck.  I think it has been renewed in Alex thanks to Evan's interest.  Evan I think has even started saying "GARBAGE TRUCK" when he hears one coming.  I got a video, but you have to use your imagination.

The first flower my wonderful son Alex has given me.  I put it in wax paper and am pressing it in a dictionary, because that's what you do with first flowers.

If you were wondering if a baby/toddler can fit a golf ball in their mouth... they can.  He can close his lips as well, and he even gagged on it and puked on the floor.  Don't let kids play with golf balls.

Alex's cake for his birthday party.  He had to have a Heffalump from Winnie the Pooh on his cake.  This made things a little interesting, but we got a place that would do it and it was a really yummy and creative cake.

Evan wasn't feeling very well at the beginning of the party.  He just wanted to be held.  Thankfully he has an aunt that LOVES holding babies, and special bonus for him she's a lot like Mommy.

Alex blowing out his candle on the cake.

Alex got spiderman sun glasses from Grandma Manny and he has been LOVING them!  He wore them for the first two weeks he got them, and now he wants them any time we go out.

Just a cute baby picture of Evan and his friend Linc. I have a feeling they are going to be good buddies like their older brothers.

Alex modeling the scarf I made for him.  I did not make the lamb attachments, but I did knit the scarf! :)  Just in time for the 70 degree weather! Yes! (Note the sunglasses)

The box fort has made a reappearance and the boys are loving it.  Evan finds the window hole so much fun.  I told mike that I'm done repairing it, once it's done it's done.  (Note the sunglasses)

Alex loves to stack things, what ever they may be.  I think this is yogurt, cheese and a piece of hotdog.

Evan also enjoys playing with Alex's sun glasses.

Clayton helping Evan bang out some tunes. Clayton is so good with both the boys.

The boys riding the horse at Meijer.  Perhaps this was a mistake to put both of them on it, but we had some time to kill.  The reason it was a mistake is Sandy has been out of order since then, but no one at Meijer has put an "Out of Order" sign on it so we get the boys on it and put in a penny and the darn thing doesn't work.  Very frustrating!

Mike took my car to get the tires balanced while we did the grocery shopping, however we were done with that and the car hadn't even been pulled into the bay yet.  So we wandered over to this grassy area by a power station and hung out there and waited for Mike.  Issue was that there were large muddy puddles that Evan kept wanting to crawl into, and would kick and thrash if I pulled him back. It kind of became a game between us.

My Mom's birthday gift to me.  I'm making a knitted blanket, or at least I'm going to attempt to.  So far I have 8 squares complete, just need to make a billion (30?) more, and then figure out how to attach them together.

Evan crying at the table.  He's such a cry baby.

My boys love to read.

Mike made another fun train track and the boys were enjoying driving on it.  Evan just runs his car in and out of the tunnel because it makes noise.

We went to the new Penguinarium at the zoo this week.  It was fun, but man those school groups are loud in those in closed spaces.

The boys 10 feet under water watching penguins swim above them.

Us enjoying our first ride on the zoo train.  Alex asked as we drove up what the tracks were for around the zoo.  Wasn't he delighted to know that I planned on taking him on the train.  And tomorrow we are going to see Thomas at the Henry Ford!

The boys taking a cruise around the neighborhood.

The ants have found our pantry and they are everywhere and so many of them. So we took them all apart and mike is going to caulk the gaps in the hopes of keeping them from coming in, we will see if it works.   But the boys are really enjoying playing in them.

Evan did not want to get out so daddy could tape.

I took my car in to get the AC fixed and it was supposed to be a 3 hour job.  We got there at 8:30 am and nothing was open in Farmington... so we hung out on a bench.

Then we did some shopping and headed to the library to meet some friends.

After lunch Evan just passed out (this is about 1pm, car was supposed to be ready at noon).  So we kept shopping and walking around.  Then we got ice cream.

Then we headed to the car place to just hang out in their waiting room watching TV, but Evan wouldn't stop playing with the buttons.  So about 3pm I had two crazy exhausted kids on my hands and a still not fixed car because something else is broken. *sigh* The boys napped for a bit when I got home so at least we got that.

July Blog

We started out the month with loosing power at 4am, and not getting it back until 8pm. It was one of the 100+ heat index days, so the kids a...
