Eliza got this rose from a boy in her class for Valentine's Day
Eliza makes some amazing recipes with pictures included. I love her spelling
We had an issue that our washer was causing the floor drain to overflow, turns out the main sewer line was blocked by tree roots. So we had this guy, who was super nice, come out and snake it one night. What an ordeal. Should be good for a while now though.
Haircut for Alex
Haircut for Evan
Mom Baker gave us a gift card to Rainforest Cafe so we enjoyed a dinner out and the kids got to see all the animals
The kids and I went to visit with Auntie Em and Lila one day. We spent some time at the library in Chelsea and then went to a playground. It was so cold and windy we ate lunch in the van. Thank goodness for lay flat seats.
The kids had a great time playing with Lila even in the cold
Ice tree fort from one of two ice storms we had in a week. Thankfully we didn't loose power or any trees.
The ice was super thick on everything
Orchid corner, 3 are my neighbors while she's in Florida for the winter.
Evan and I have been going to my friends house to help make blankets for Hospice out of crochet squares his group makes. Evan and I help sew the squares into blankets. Evan really enjoys sewing and chatting and eating the treats.
My colorful girl
We didn't' loose any branches in the ice storm, but we did loose about 10 in the snow storm the week after.
We got almost 8 inches of snow, it was wet and heavy.
Eliza tuckered out from helping shovel, and push two cars out and into driveways. We walked around and they plowed only until the street down the road, so anyone going our way were getting stuck. Only the trucks had the clearance to not get stuck.
Alex has really been enjoying his Dungeons and Dragon game days with his dad and classmates. He's got about 4 classmates now that he plays with monthly.
Eliza has started doing her own nose treatments at night and brushing her own hair as well. The kids are really particular about how their hair looks now.
Mike and Eliza reading before bed.
Evan turned 8 this month! He's very happy to be older.
I usually make popcorn on the stove, but we got a few bags of popcorn from our Sunday School teacher. So the kids are watching it pop in the microwave, they are fascinated by it.
Happy Birthday Clayton (20), Clara (16), Evan (8) and Eliza (6)
We had a lovely birthday celebration with them.
Happy 6th Birthday Eliza!

We went to the playground on a random off Wed the kids had. The entire playground was ours, it was great!
They had a great time
Alex worked on this Day of Design with a few of his classmates. It was called Tube.0 (Tube point oh), and it's a innertube you can drive around the lake and it filters the water to clean out trash.
Uncle Geoff came over to teach Evan and I how to crochet one evening. Evan really enjoyed it. We both need to work on not dropping stitches.
First thing Evan did the following morning was start crocheting again. Last night he even talked to me about how he needs to get back to it.
We had the kids birthday party at a trampoline park. Each kid got to invite 3 friends and they got to jump for an hour and then we had a pizza party.
Eliza loved jumping off this
Alex road this huge slide half the time we were there.
The cousins joined us at the party, which was super fun.
We headed to my uncle's to get beef and the boys got to feed the baby lambs.

Grow station is in full operation
Eliza got a wonderful sparkly dress for her birthday. It's so glittery that she can't wear it in the house anymore, so I sent her to school to glitter the school with it.
The kids took a hike with the local boy scout troop. Now they all want to join. Just not sure how to fit it into our schedule.
The kids enjoying a movie thanks to Evan. Evan got happy faces from his teacher all week for his good behavior, so he got to pick from his prize bag at home. He picked a movie and popcorn for his reward. It looks like it's a scary movie from this picture, but it's a musical about a gifted child with a great imagination.
Eliza has taken a liking to making her own breakfast and lunches. She butters her own bread in the morning and is very involved in making lunches for school and at home.
Because Evan has not had smiley faces every day of the week since October, we decided it was a large enough accomplishment that he should get DQ as a treat for his good work.
We went to Nana's house with the Carter family to celebrate Evan, Eliza, Alex and my birthday. We had a lovely visit and the boys love their new watches!
Eliza showing off the dress she got from Nana with her green unicorn boots.
My good friend from college that I called my adopted mom passed away suddenly this month. We decided to go and visit with her husband for an afternoon. The kids had great time digging up his yard and telling him stories.
My dear Jamie, may she rest in peace.
We drove along side a train for quite a while, we wondered if we'd see the engines before the road split off. We got to see them right before the road Y'ed off from the train track.
We stayed in Ludington after visiting with my friend. I didn't feel up to driving 3 hours home and Uncle Geoff said we could stay at his place. We got to see the sunset which was lovely, but a bit cold.
My lovely children.
We woke up early, as usual, and headed to have breakfast. Eliza and Evan both got the cinnamon pancakes that were amazing!
Yum!
Wonderful breakfast had by all.
We went to an amazing Children's Museum while in Ludington for the morning. It was 3 stories and had so much to do. This was a sand pit on the 3rd story with construction equipment.
Dr. Baker working on a new born getting the vitals.
Evan and Eliza working hard on filling the truck with sand.
Eliza checking in the patient.
The kids got to watch 5 movies while in the car to and from Ludington. We had a quick but lovely trip, and I'm thankful for who ever thought of putting movies in cars for little people.
