Evan finally finished his gem solar system art. So many tiny gems!! It is now hanging his his room.
We went to the library and picked out every book on California we could find. The kids for a while were very busy planning what to see on our upcoming trip and what kinds of things California has to offer.
Easter gifts for the kids. They were too big for their baskets, but they still each got a bit of candy and a chocolate bunny.
Easter at the Carter house
Always nice to visit with family.
Eliza and her kitties at bed. I can't see how this is comfortable.
Impromptu jam session on the deck. I got the kids some buckets and some drum sticks for fun. They are outdoor toys, but they are enjoying drumming their hearts out.
We watched the Artemis landing. Evan still wants to be a astronaut, no change there. We were concerned if something went wrong he might change his mind, but the landing went as planned. It is fun to think he will get to see a trip to the moon in a few years.
Alex got older this month. We now have an official teenager in the house.
He was gifted an adult towel. He's been using the same towel since he was 4 or 5, so it was time to get one that covered his butt when he got out of the shower.
We had to extend the marks on the playroom door so we can continue to track the kids heights. We've decided if we ever move we will need to take the door with us. Alex grew 5" this year.
Alex was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Very proud of him and all his hard work.
One of the 3D creatures Aunt Jamie gave the kids for their birthdays.
We had a sicky this month. Eliza had a fever one day, and she was bound and determined to get back on her feet and get back to school.
With all the rain we've had the swamp behind the house was flooded. Thankfully it has gone down in the weeks following all the rain.
My sassy girl telling me to get out of the car faster.
After our adventure at the library we headed to DQ for a sweet treat.
Alex doing his solo
And his duet with a friend
They both got I's for both of their solos and duets. He's going to be trying out for a new band this month, wish him luck.
I got two new garden beds in this year. Mike was kind enough to help me with both.
I also got dirt! Yeah! I went in with a neighbor to get a load from a compost place, and I was so happy to have it delivered and work on the garden.
Updating the garden. I need to find some asparagus crowns. It's going to be a great year!
All of us at the Lego Fest. The boys helped with the Middle School Robotics while Eliza and I had our last presentation at the Elementary level. Nothing more fun on your birthday morning, it was nice to be with my family and lots of friends.

Eliza's group presenting to the judges.
The boys showing off their robots to the littles.
Listening to all the awards.
After the Lego fest Alex got painting while....
I went plant shopping for my birthday! It was a little cold, but that won't keep me from enjoying my time.
Dinner out for Chinese for my birthday. The kids tried new foods and it was delicious!
Then for my sweet birthday treat we headed to Melt & Dip and got chocolate wonderfulness! (No fingers were lost in getting the last bits.)
My mom bought tickets for a girls afternoon seeing Shen Yun at the Detroit Opera house. My Aunt couldn't make it, and then Mom said she couldn't make it, but then Alex and Clayton said they would go and we all enjoyed the beautiful show.
The Detroit Opera house is lovely and my friend Kirsten was kind enough to spare me the stress of driving to Detroit and drove us all to the show.
We went to a Jelly Bean taste test at the library. It was super fun as always.
The boys did Bamboozled and convinced our library friend to try it. You spin the wheel and you get two options for what one bean might be. It could be raspberry or it could be puke flavored, you don't know until you eat it.
Evan lucked out most times. Eliza got buggers.
The next day we were back at the library for a tweens event where they got to make their own little stuffed world and decorate cupcakes.

My flowers are getting ready to go outside and live soon.
Rosie has taken to napping on my dresser on my workout clothes.
The boys were confirmed on Sunday.

Wonderful, busy month! You guys are so interesting! I'm specifically curious about the chinese restaurant, and what the lady in the painting is removing from Mike's brain? Hope he didn't need that. lol. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations to Alex and Evan on their confirmation. God bless you all! :)
