They are getting bigger

Yesterday we went to Alex's two year check up and Evan's one month check up.  Both boys are doing well and are healthy and doing well.

For Alex here are his stats: Height 38.8 Inches (59%), Weight 23lb 13oz (7%) and Head Circ. 49.8cm (77%).  So he's still a light weight, but he's tall and has a big brain.

As for Evan here are his stats: Height 22.8 Inches (78%), Weight 11lb 2oz (71%) and Head Circ. 39.3cm (61%).  So he's packing on the pounds and seems to be keeping up with his brother's stats.

So on with the show....

Evan getting a piggy back ride from his brother.  One of many to come I have a feeling.

Alex was in such a rush to put on his hat he put it on sideways and his tail was sticking out the side of his head. :)

Alex wouldn't rock without Daddy, so here they are the rocking duo.

Alex got a ball pit and balls from his Aunt and Uncle Carter and he LOVED it.  However, after about a hour it starts to deflate, so... we put it up in Alex's room for about a month and now it's been taken down.  But he loved jumping and running and throwing while it was up.

The first swing of the season.  He had a nice time and keeps asking to go to the park now.

And this is how I get a shower during the week.  I put both the boys in a chair and go as quick as I can.   Alex likes to put up the sun visor on both the chairs and sit back and relax.

Alex has gotten a lot bigger but he still fits in the Bumbo.

Alex and Evan playing on the floor getting ready for bed.

Evan watching one of his mobiles. He doesn't really follow it too much yet, but in a while I think he'll really start enjoying it.

Daddy taught Alex how to get up and wash his hands. Now he can push a chair over and turn on the water... not the best idea.  Now I have to watch him even more closely while he's running around the house.

Isn't this kid cute!!

Alex got his baby sun glasses back and he was really enjoying wearing them again.  However, they might be a bit snug now and Evan will need them... so further down you'll see his new glasses.

Evan checking out Daddy at breakfast.

More swinging.  These boys love to swing together.

Alex really enjoys lining up his cars (and other objects) on the couch

My boys

Alex and Mike doing some yard work.

Evan in his first big boy outfit. He wasn't too impressed.

Alex can stack like no other boy I know.  He stacks everything he can.

Alex ready for his bike ride with Daddy.

I love how Alex crosses his legs while he watches TV.  I thought it was even cuter that he folded his hands on his lap. :)

Here's my littlest man.  So cute!

On one nice morning we went out in our PJ's and enjoyed the outside. That was fun.

"Cheese!" Alex know's how to use Mike's tripod.

The boys playing on the playmat.

My boys enjoying the evening outside. What great weather we've been having! The flowers are up and starting to bloom.  I love this time of the year.

Alex lining up his cars all over the couch now. :)

The boys enjoying the crib.

Profile pic... I think they might be related.

The boys at their check up appointment.  Aren't they cute in their diapers.

And here are Alex's new sexy specs.  I think he might be a police officer when he grows up. He's already got the look. :)

Times are changing

My mother and Dave came over to visit and Dave and Alex had a nice time reading books in the big rocking chair.  Alex loves to read books in that chair.  Anyone in that chair needs to read a book to him, them's the rules. :)

Alex figures why reach in the basket for toys when you can just climb in and have all the toys at once.

Alex has been learning his letters lately and we got him this fancy puzzle to help and it's been working.  Alex now knows about 95% of his letters by sight, which is pretty awesome.  He's also able to count to 3.

Alex really enjoys playing with my friends daughter M.  He loves going to their house and they could run around for hours together.  It's pretty great.

One day I was laying in bed because I was just so tired, but Alex can't leave someone alone on a bed.  So we got these cute pictures of each other.  I love this kid.

BLAHHHHHH!!!

Alex and I enjoying our last Red Robin meal for a while.  Don't think we'll be venturing out to a place to eat for a while.

On March 9th we were graced with a new family member.  My water broke at about 12:30 at night and we headed to the hospital after my sister arrived.  I was 4cm when I was admitted at 3am, and by 7am I was still 4cm even after all the fun of laboring for 4 hours.  So I got an epidural in preparation for having possibly another C-section and tried to relax a bit.  So at 11 they checked me again and I was at 8cm and started to prep the room for delivery, and by 12pm the baby had descended low enough for me to start pushing.  And at 1:03pm we had our second baby boy, Evan Andrew Baker. :)

And here he is... all 8lb 10oz and 21 inches of him.

So within 24 hours Evan started to exhibit signs of jaundice so he had to be put under the blue lights and given an IV for two days while they made sure the fever he had at birth wasn't due to an infection.

So Thursday we finally got the go ahead to head home.

Alex and Evan were fast friends.  Alex enjoys kissing Evan on the head and I think they will really enjoy being brothers.

Alex enjoys eating his "E" as he calls it, we call it cereal.

Alex lining up his cars for a race.

My good friend Kristi crocheted this hat for Evan.  So cute!

Evan getting ready to go to the doctors.

Papa and Grandma Jodi visiting their latest grandchild.

Evan looking cute.

Evan checking out Daddy.

The boys playing on the floor together.

Alex enjoying the penny ride at Meijer.  We need to start getting used to him running free while we are shopping.

Evan was enjoying some time on his playmat and I told Alex we should get him a toy or two.  Alex ended up making a few trips back and forth giving Evan all kinds of things.

Then he decided to lay down on the floor and join in the fun with Evan.

Things are changing

Well we are at week 39.5 with baby Baker 2.  Still feeling mostly well and have the bag packed for the hospital.  Got the 5 pages of instructions for my sister (huge thank you to her for watching Alex) on how to run the house and Alex's routine.  One big change is we are down a family member... we decided that Link might be happier in another home where he could have other furry brothers and sisters and perhaps a fenced in yard.  It was tough to say goodbye to him, but I'm sure how full my hands will be in the near future it was the best choice for all of us.

Alex woke up and heard the bus going by.  I thought it was a pretty image with the sun coming up.

My friend Kristi crocheted Alex a crown. :) so cute.

Kristi and I made one of my first, or perhaps my first, gingerbread house.  It was awesome!!  So glad we took the time to do it.

Here is Alex's room.  There is more stuff in it now to make it more functional, but I wanted to share the colors and how great of a job Mike did.

Alex enjoying story time with Daddy.

Alex watching Mike snow blow.  I think he wanted to go out and help him.

Alex likes to crawl up next to me in my big chair and read books.  I think it's so cute.

Alex being pretty in his pink hat and beaded necklace.

Alex brushing his teeth before bed.  He does pretty good with it and even asks for it. :)  What a great kid.

Alex at the doctor office at a work bench.  He was able to nail in the red nail with one try.  I think he might have some wood working skills. :)

So Alex can now reach the water dispenser on the fridge. So he likes to fill his glass then turn around and dump it right into the prep sink on our island. Well he doesn't always get it in the sink... so now he's learning about clean up after himself.  Mike thinks of it as slave labor.

A image of things to come.  Boys and the baby on the couch.

Alex after getting out the shower with a HUGE yawn.  Could he get any cuter? I really love that he has wavy hair.

Alex and I decided to spend a day with my best friend Emily at the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor.  Alex got to play in a ambulance and all kinds of other fun activities.

He could work on sending signals by pulling levers and lighting up lights.

He got to dress up like a fireman and sit in a little fire truck.

But really what could be more fun than getting down on the floor and playing with a baby?  I think he's going to  make a great big brother.

Alex after sledding down our tiny sledding hill in our back yard.  He liked it more than last year, but didn't 'like' it yet.  He'll get there.  It was also really cold out that night.

Alex really likes to crawl up onto the big beds and 'go night night'.  He brings his stuffed animals, covers his legs with the blanket, and puts his head on the pillow.

Alex and our good friend Geoff out to brunch.  Alex and him get along so well.

Alex enjoying Nana's banana bread. He really thought it was awesome!

Sept Blog

The month started very wet, and we found a few leaks in the basement.  With all the rain we were getting it's not surprising. That is ou...
