Snow and Birthdays

Showing some love to the teeth and to each other.

Alex is ready to combat the cold.

Eliza's mask goes really well with her dress.

My lovely girl.

We got plenty of snow this month, but it didn't last long.

The kids made the most of it, that is for sure.

Eliza was tunneling in our yard and the neighbors. She was a little mole.

My snow crew.

The kids trying out the new hard bottomed sled we got them.

So with all the snow, and the cold temps we got some pretty good ice dams on the roof. Which in turn tuned into some pretty good leaks in our kitchen. But as soon as they were gone, we were good to go. Just need to do some patching for where we cut into the ceiling to drain the water.

Evan getting some air at the Wades house.

Alex getting some air off the jump daddy made.

The last run of the night before heading to see Grandma and Grandpa.

After sledding we were welcomed with warm hugs and a game of War.

Eliza is enjoying watching the plants grow. They are getting pretty good at picking out plants that are sprouting.

The boys singing along to the Alphafriend of the day in Evan's class.

We grew crystals this month. The kids thought it was really cool.

Eliza in pigtails doing her homework.

I'm not sure why my kids collect ice on our walks in the morning, but they do.

One day we took some paper airplanes on our walk in the morning. None came home with a nose that wasn't smashed.

Eliza stealing my tea in the morning.

I got my dad vaccinated, and we got Mike's mom and uncle and my mom and step dad all vaccinated in the last month! :)

My grow station. My peppers just started poking up their heads today, and yesterday I planted tomatoes.

Hungry Hungry hippos!

This happens more than I'd like. The neighbor Mila stops by at dinner and stays and watches us eat... she usually brings her 20 year old brother along to watch as well.

Evan's art work from school.

Evan ordered my olive oil pizza with pickles for his birthday dinner.

And we had cookies and cream cupcakes for his birthday cake.

Brotherly hugs on our walk this last week. Eliza fell walking on the drive way and skinned her knee so we went without her, she stayed with Daddy.

Eliza turned 4 this month.

We were blessed with a visit from Mike's sister, everyone kept their distance. The kids were thrilled to see them.

Eliza ordered unicorn mac and cheese for her birthday dinner.

Mike couldn't help himself in trying out Eliza's new fuzzy unicorn blanket from Aunt Jamie.

Our big 4 year old.

She was figuring out if she liked my yellow cupcakes that I made a strawberry butter cream frosting for her.

We got her unicorn hair for her birthday.

Alex had to try the hair on....

As well as Evan.

Uncle Geoff came for breakfast this month and stayed to play games with the kids and chat with us.

Giving perfection a try.

Nana gave the kids lights for their bikes so people can see them at night. What a great idea!!!

Snow times

Eliza and Daddy working on the circuit set we have.

The kids built a circuit that when you turn the switch on it spins a propeller, and when you turn it off it shoots off into the air and the kids try and catch it.

Hide a go seek taken to another level by Eliza. If she was wearing white pants it would have been perfect. Alex walked right by as it is. :)

Visiting the Wade family for James's birthday we got a chance to see their new chicken area, and play with a few of the kittens.

While we were enjoying some time in the barn Mike was occupying the other Wade kids with a game of Sythe.

Meijer has been out of most spices for about a month now. I can't find dill seed or oregano. This week a stock lady made the joke it is now a salt isle because that's all they have.

We got to have some fun with the Rowe family this month.

The kids are super rough on snow tubes. I've patched so many of them. Not sure what they are doing, but... man... they know how to distroy them.

Evan went to the doctor to get his skin looked at. All is well, but I thought he looked pretty cute with his mask and game out waiting for the doctor.

Mike had carpal tunnel surgery this month on his right hand. His sister was so sweet in buying us dinner from Qdoba so I didn't have to cook that night. Mike loves Mexican food.

My little girl on her afternoon siesta.

Google doing a side by side of the kids in 2018 (top) and this month (bottom).

On our morning walk I got some cute pictures of the kids.

Eliza playing a math game that Aunt Shawn let us borrow.

I won Pretty Pretty Princess, a highlight of my month.

The boys have been working on snow forts this month.

Both are getting more secure as the snow and month go on.

Here they are doing battle.

Evan playing Battleship with Daddy while I was at the doctor.

Eliza getting ready to go outside. She just looked so cute.

Side by side that Google made.

Sledding together at the Library. Eliza is on the bottom.

Alex looking well covered.

Daddy and Eliza in a nice picture while sledding.

Alex enjoying some cuddling time in our bed while Mike reads Harry Potter.

Evan wearing his new Snoopy shirt that he looks forward to showing Aunt Jamie.

Eliza helping me making pizza for dinner. She's my little kitchen helper, Evan likes to as well.

Cuddling on the couch while watching the Harry Potter movie after finishing the book.

Our first time out for a meal in a long, long, long time and we were blessed to have a meal with Uncle Geoff.

Doing a funny filter on his phone with the kids.

More Harry Potter while doing a puzzle by the fire.

Alex hard at work at school.

Side by side of Alex in 2015 and this year.

Alex has started reading books at the table while eating. Not a great location to read books, but I do like that he's reading.

Meandering shoveling of a 3 year old.

She did do a good job with the front porch. :)

Eliza using her new pens she got from Oma. She was so sad that she didn't have a purple pen anymore. She used the one she got for Christmas from church in 2 weeks after getting it. I wonder how long these pens will last.

Hard at work with school.

The put their pants on their head to "have long hair" like a girl. Daddy used to do this when they were babies and he was changing their diapers.

Eliza brushing her teeth.

Eliza making some window pane decals.

She's so funny.

July Blog

We started out the month with loosing power at 4am, and not getting it back until 8pm. It was one of the 100+ heat index days, so the kids a...
