When ever I go to water the garden Alex always asks to show Evan the different settings of the nozzle. Eliza decided to get in on the fun from the safety of her little house.
Evan showing off his new headphones.
After baths I put Eliza on the counter and comb her hair while she looks at "A lot of Eliza's" in the mirrors.
The play place we went to for the boys birthday party in the spring offered free admission for the month of August so we took advantage and used the rest of the coins on the cards we had.
This was the circut that Eliza did over and over. Up the multi colored steps, down the slide, up again.
Eliza got in on the games too. She disappeared while I was playing air hockey with the boys and I found her in this game shooting dinosaurs.
Eliza also got to ride with Alex on the skydoo game.
We visited with Nana this month. She bought the boys new toys that you can take apart and put back together again. Evan did the whole thing (take apart and put back together) with minimal help from Mike. Alex took his apart and then decided he was done.
After a birthday party there was a big rain storm when we got home so we let the kids run in the rain with their umbrellas and enjoy for a bit. Eliza loved jumping in the puddles until the large thunder clap.
I find it funny that Eliza likes to rest her foot on the table while she eats.
Going to need a bigger chair soon. These kids keep growing.
Oma came to visit and the kids enjoyed some reading time.
I canned and pickled the beets I grew this summer. Should be ready in a few weeks.
We went to touch a truck with Oma at the Saline fair. The kids loved it and there was so much to look at. Alex is in the combine.
Evan is waiting to go in the cement mixer
Eliza decided she wanted in on the action. This is her in the cement mixer.
First time on the bus for these guys.
Eliza riding shotgun to Evan in a big rig.
And I do mean a big rig. You can see Evan in the windshield.
Some of the vehicles that were there.
A few more vehicles.
After touch a truck we went to the barns and looked at animals. Eliza really like the animals.
She wanted to stick her head into the pigs. Evan commented on how they have butts.
More tractor riding.
Bunnies that let the kids touch them.
They had these that the kids could sit on. They also had a fake cow with utters filled with water or milk that you could milk. I thought that was neat.
I was putting away clothes in the boys room and I heard the boys laughing outside on the swings and took a picture. Alex can swing himself now. After I took this picture I heard Alex screaming about Eliza.... turns out she was attempting to go out too... wearing my flip flops as her shoes.
We went shopping for shorts for me at Bass Pro Shop and Mike took this picture while I was trying on things of Eliza and Evan.
Mike finally got a sun hat, Eliza is showing it off in this picture.
Evan decided to go along for the ride for Alex's dentist appointment. Evan is not interested in going back.... but he will be soon.
Mike was working on his computer one day and Evan decided that he also wanted to work on his computer like Daddy.
We got a new game Guess Who and the kids enjoy it. Evan needs a bit of help, but he enjoys it.
Uncle Geoff took us for a ride in his Jeep with the top off. The boys LOVED it!
Alex is running after Uncle Geoff as he drives off.
Movie day at the Bakers. Complete with popcorn. We watched Ferdinand for the first time, it was good.
We had fun in the sprinkler one last time before putting it away for the year.
Eliza was kind enough to share her Popsicle with me.
Such a cutie. :)
Finally got the boys peeing into the woods rather than just in the lawn. They were peeing and then just running through it... sigh.
Eliza loves driving trains and trucks just as much as the boys.
First day of school for Alex.
Walking to the bus stop at 10 to 8. Takes 4 minutes to get there with the short legs. The bus stop is about 3 houses past the yellow house in the middle of the photo.
Alex getting on the bus.
Evan is ready for preschool!
Waiting for Alex to get off the bus at 3:30. The kids are really happy to see each other. Alex loves school and is excited to go everyday. He'll be napping on the weekends for a while to catch up on sleep. The 20 min of "rest" time at school is not doing enough for him.
Eliza likes to ride all of her animals.
The kids and their cats. Eliza kept stealing the boys kitties so we got her one this month, it hasn't helped with the stealing.
Eliza did not want to be photographed... but daddy prevailed.
We attended Alex's friends birthday party at a gymnastics center. The kids had a ball.
Eliza walked all the way across this beam a few times on her own.
Alex trying out the balance beam.
The crew with Jason and another boy.
I came downstairs and found Eliza eating the granola bars that I made Alex. She was wondering why they weren't hers and if she could keep eating them.
"Cheese!"
Eliza and I traveled to the fabric store this week. She was very interested in anything pink and shinny. But I got the material for the kids bat wings... just need to start working on them now.
Eliza hit Evan in the forehead last night so he's got a bandaid on his head, and then his outfit just made me smile today so I thought I'd share.
On that note.... see you next month!
