With all the flash flood rains we've been having this summer, our front porch has no where to drain. This is about 4-5" of water over our front walk way.
Our road flooded as well after a heavy storm (fortunately down the street from our house). It was all the way up to the bottom of a mail box, thankfully after about 2 hours it was all drained and no damage done.
Raspberry fingers!
The kids are doing a great job at keeping our driveway decorated this summer. Lots of Mario designs this time.
Whole thing was full of great drawings.
Eliza looked great and matchy matchy for church one week.
Evan enjoyed a golf camp this month. He enjoyed the time on the playground more than learning how to golf, but he still had a good time learning a new sport.
This is common at our house. Alex sitting at the table, or other locations, reading... all the time!
Watching Evan golf.
Not a bad harvest.
Eliza painting her unicorn bank she got for her birthday.
All done!
Evan working on getting the car built he got for his birthday.
All done!
Now to paint it.
My car was in the shop for a few days so we all got to pile into Mike's Ford Focus. We Fit!
Visited with Dad and Jodi and the boys got to swim in the bath water temperature pool
Eliza all dressed up and ready to go to Messy Art Camp in the boys old clothes. She looked so darn cute!
She had a cover for her cast so she didn't get it all dirty at camp.
The boys enjoyed hanging out at the playground while Eliza was at her camp. It did downpour for a bit, so the boys got a bit wet.
The circuit set has made another appearance.
First date night in over a year! Nice to get out with each other and be able to talk with just the waiter interrupting us.
The cousins were kind enough to watch the kids for us... with the payment of pizza, ice cream and Netflix.
Breakfast with Uncle Geoff always a good time... but the kids were a little crazy not being used to eating out again.
We worked on burying our downspout before we get our deck this fall. Evan was a great helper for this difficult task!
We didn't cut the sprinkler lines, but we did cut the internet cable. Miss Dig should let you know they have a 1'-2' error in their markings of the lines.
Putting everything back together after covering the tube with rocks and fabric. Success!
Evan was using our dominos for dominos so we decided to get a set of colored dominos to stack and knock over. They are really having fun with those.
Evan putting on a puppet show for Eliza and Little Alex.
Me getting ready to head out into the garden. Got to keep that sun of my pasty skin. :)
I just love this picture. It talks for itself.
Waiting to get mommy's car back from the dealer after the warranty repairs. AC wasn't working in the back anymore, and the front suspension was had some issues, but we are good to go now.
Finished their GIANT lego creations!
Alex helping me harvest Garlic.
Knocking off the dirt before transporting them.
Evan and Eliza joined in for harvesting the onions.
All done! 28 heads for Garlic and 30 Onions. :)
Evan was sewing at church, so I offered to teach him how to sew for real.
So the next day I cut them some fabric and the boys learned how to thread their needle, tie a knot at the end and two different stitches. They also learned to feed a string through with a clothespin to make a pull on their pouches.
Ta Da!
We had a ton of slugs on the play structure one morning. This one was doing the maze on the back of the slide. Alex informed me this slug was cheating!
We had a 4-leaf clover hunt this month. Alex and Evan found one each, and Eliza found a few 2-leaf clovers.
Prepping the bed for carrots and turnips for the fall.
All ready to go.
Doo doo do dooo, No cast! She's free!! Just hast to be careful for another month so the bone can fully heal.
Eliza asked for 5 pony tails... she got her wish.
:)
Cruel mommy making the boys learn cursive and Eliza is practicing writing her letters with both hands. She's still using her Left hand for a lot of things. I'm just letting it play out, she can use both hands for all I care. I've also been having the boys journal and do a bit of math over the summer.
Alex all ready to head to Aunt Jamie's and Uncle Dave's house for their first sleepover. The boys packed their own bags and were so excited!
The boys had a great time! They were up until after midnight with a movie, a walk, Minecraft time and fort building. They can't wait to go back!
Game night for the adults. Always such a good time with friends!
Evan decided after watching skateboarding on the Olympics that he wanted to do it. So before he got his own skateboard he and Mila (next door girl) helped each other learn how to ride the board she had.
We had a visit from my dad for a few days. Eliza loved the extra attention that Grandpa provided.
We took Dad to the Henry Ford and we all really enjoyed it. I look forward to taking him again.
There is a Jim Henson Exhibit right now at the Henry Ford so the kids got to see Kermit and a lot of other awesome friends!
First skateboard injury. 3 skinned vertebra.
We've changed reading time at night a bit. On occasion we are allowing the kids to read on their own until 8pm. They are really enjoying it.
Even Eliza gets her time to read.
Everyone got Library Cards!! Big day for the kids! We got way too many books today!
Eliza didn't have pockets like her brothers, so she carried her books with her library card in her mouth.... with her mask on. :)
