I got Eliza roped into saving seeds with me this year. She's helping me crack open Radish seed pods so we can plant them next year.
Both the boys lost a tooth. Evan lost his first, and Alex lost his third. They are almost twins. Evan has been working on that tooth for a long long LONG time, and he was so happy to finally loose on. I guess most of the kids in his class have lost a tooth already. Alex's dentist said that Alex is a year to a year and a half behind his peers.
Eliza helping me with cookies. This fall I decided to make a cookie a week out of a 320 cookie cookbook I had. I'm falling behind, but finding some really good recipes!
He made a peach and black berry cobbler that was AMAZING! He even got to use a knife for the first time to cut up the peaches.
The boys soccer season has come to a close, which is great... considering Evan's last game was played in a muddy bog. It was so cold, and wet.... not sure I like soccer, but I know the boys do.
The Wade family joined us for Trick or Treating this year. Eliza was a unicorn princess pegasus , Evan was Mario, Alex was Harry Potter, Clara was a detective, James was Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbs.... again), Maggie was a tigar.
We really liked that Eliza's costume lit up. It was so easy to find her running around. We might use it again next year.
Mike and I went out for our 10 year anniversary dinner. Oma was kind enough to watch the kids for us. We had a great time and over ate.
Eliza and Alex had their umbilical hernias operated on this month. So they were down and out for the week of Thanksgiving. They were walking around with old people without a cane for much of the week. Shuffling their feet and hunched over. But their outty bellybuttons are now mostly innys. They are doing just fine now. You wouldn't know they had surgery two weeks ago.Alex missed some science experiments while he was out for the week of Thanksgiving, so we were working on his evaporation experiments at home.
We were joined by Mom Baker, Larry, and the Carter family for Thanksgiving. Always a nice time and good food.
First year growing parsnips and it won't be my last. They were pretty easy and I think I should try them again.
I lost my Grandma Ernst in Nov. She was such a wonderful, strong, loving, words can't fully describe how wonderful she was woman... and she is and will be very missed.
