New and Fun Things

We laid my Grandpa Ernst to rest this month. It was a really nice funeral, and the family decided to take Grandpa to his final resting sight by his Avery Tractor. My he rest in peace.

We ventured to Alex's school playground one day, and the kids all climbed up to the top of this playset. I was impressed.

They also fit on the ball that sit outside of the Target stores. :)

I love that Eliza is just a little too small to see over the counters still.

Daddy and Eliza enjoying a really fancy swing set at a birthday party we went to.

Aren't they just too cute?!

The kids chowing down before going back to play in the 2 bounce house with water slides, or pool, or spinkler.... they had it all!

The fun faces of Alex. :)

Eliza decided to face plant into the steps of Alex's bunk bed this month. She got a pretty good shiner and a bruised cheek to show for it.

Alex got his artwork displayed at the library this month. He drew a flag that he would put on the moon. (his is the lower right side on the back wall)

We took a trip up north to Black Lake, but on the way we stopped and had a meal and spent some time with the Gascho family. The kids had a good time playing while we got to catch up with some of our good friends.

Here is where we stayed at Black Lake UAW recreation site. We got a two bedroom apartment, which was nice for making meals and having space to run around if needed.

It was right off Black Lake, and the boys went in the lake a few times... even with their clothes on.

They had a full sized gym.

Long large glass wood walkways that connected the main buildings together.

Pretty trails to take walks and enjoy the views.

My crew heading up the stairs.

We were invited up to Black Lake by the Carter family (Mike's sister's family). Here are all of us enjoying our last meal at Black Lake together.

Turns out Uncle Dave is pretty good at drawing.

They also have a Olympic sized swimming pool the boys got to enjoy for a few minutes. Eliza didn't get to swim because we were tying to get back to the lake for sunset as fast as we could.

And the sunsets were lovely!

The morning we left the Carter family showed us to small waterfall in the area.

Eliza's expression says it all as to how we felt getting home. It was a fun, but very active trip up north.

Zombie carrot from my garden.

She's too cute when she sleeps.

Trying on daddy's glasses at Alex's 1st grade conference meeting.

Here are the kids raspberry hunting on Aunt Shawn's deck. I think I might need to start a raspberry patch of my own with how much fun they were having.

Clayton is just a tad taller than Eliza... for now. :)

Eliza tried to get Daddy dressed, it didn't work out too well.

Being safe on the tricycle.

The kids were all riding the boom stick.... Eliza's shoes made a clopping noise which made it ever more fun.

This is one of my kids friends they've made at Meijer. Every Monday they run up to Jimmy (the chip guy) and this nice lady Dalina (Meat lady) before heading off to the bakery for a cookie.

Eliza showing off a carrot, while my onions dry in the sun behind her on their play house.

Eliza watching Daddy play his computer game.

Alex headed off to his first day of the 1st grade this year. His teacher is Mrs. Burke and she is really enjoying it already.

Off to the bus stop we go.

Evan started Pre-K(indergarten) this year. Don't let his face fool you, he was super happy to go.

With the boys away at school Eliza and I went to the park to enjoy some time in the nice fall weather.

Eliza started swimming school this month. She LOVES it! She said to me today that her teacher is her best friend! :)

Here she is in the water.

Goggles were a bit too tight I guess.

More goodies from the garden. Last of the cucumbers and first of the peppers.

Eliza wore this beautiful dress to church. She looked so pretty. She got many complements.

And she also enjoyed playing on the trampoline with it.

And spinning in it.

The kids enjoying the children's sermon at church.

Eliza and I joined the Wade family at Greenfield Village while the boys were at school one day. The Wade children had a lesson there, so Aunt Shawn got to hang out with us for the morning.

Eliza's first request when we got to Greenfield Village was to ride the horse drawn carriage, but on the way there she got distracted by the carousel.

Why is it that when you put rain boots on kids they are bound to get even wetter? Eliza and Evan had their boots full of water, and they were covered in mud... but they were loving it!

Grandpa came to visit and stay the night with us this month. The kids were over the moon to have him stay with us.

We went to Red Robin for dinner one evening, and Eliza was complaining about being cold. Even her bib didn't help warm her up.

Thankfully I remembered her hoody. :)

Evan pretending to be freezing.

Alex also freezing.

The bys playing tick tack toe waiting for their food. We were paid a complement at a breakfast place we went to the this month. This older gentleman came up to us and said "It's nice to see kids using coloring books and not just watching a phone or tablet". We keep games and crayons and coloring books in our diaper bag for just these occasions and I'm happy we do as well.

The boys got haircuts this month. Evan doesn't enjoy the buzzers by his ears.

Eliza eating the beets I gave her... not sure she likes them.

Eliza is now reading books in the boys room with her brothers. At times it's a bit of an issue, but most of the time it's fine.

Apple picking at the farm.

We took a walk down the lane after getting all the apples we wanted.

After picking apple we went to down to Great Grandma's house and had dinner with her. Oma stopped by for a few minutes and gave the kids hugs.

Eliza has graduated from the highchair to sitting at the table. The boys keep getting confused because they are both in different spots.

Eliza also started Preschool this month. She was so excited to go she was telling everyone she saw. She had a first day!

The kids with their book bag hooks.
Aren't these kids just too cute for words?

And the apples became applesauce. Poof!

Keeping Busy is our middle name

We joined some friends for bowling, turns out the boys really enjoy it. Evan is already perfecting his form. Eliza tries really hard to get ...
